The Winchester Business Excellence Awards, organized in partnership by the Hampshire Chronicle, Winchester BID, and Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, are back for another year of celebrating businesses within the Winchester District. The awards aim to recognize businesses’ hard work, help them grow and thrive, and celebrate their incredible accomplishments.
The awards consist of nine categories, including the Business Leader Award, Charity and Social Enterprise Award, Large Business Award, SME/Independent Business Award, New Business Award, Technology and Innovation Award, Sustainable Business Award, Service Excellence Award, and Creative and Cultural Award. The awards are open to businesses within the Winchester District, and businesses can nominate themselves or others.
The Technology and Innovation Award recognizes businesses that have shown innovative digital technology use and have plans to develop it sustainably in the future. The judges are looking for businesses that demonstrate sustainable process efficiency to influence future growth. The award is sponsored by Paris Smith, and the winner will receive £250 worth of advertising in the Hampshire Chronicle or on hampshirechronicle.co.uk.

Nominations are welcomed for businesses or businesses are able to nominate themselves. Once received, the nominations will be considered by a judging panel and may be subject to a ‘Mystery Shopper’ visit by the category sponsor. The judges will be looking to announce the three finalists in each category on Thursday May 4 in the Hampshire Chronicle and on hampshirechronicle.co.uk. The celebratory awards event will conclude the awards on Thursday June 1.

The Business of the Year Award will be nominated to the overall winner, which will be chosen by the judging panel from all the category winners. The Winchester City Council will also continue to award the Millennium Egg to the organization or individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the Winchester area.
